Sirine Bahloul – Volunteer of the Month for September 2023
When someone describes Sirine Bahloul, there are a few words that come up over and over: enthusiastic, reliable, and hard-working.
Those qualities have shone during Sirine’s time with Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC).
Her time with the organization began with a 14-week practicum, and when it ended, she opted to continue working with ISC through volunteer work.
“I really like the culture [at ISC], and we were working as a team all the time,” Sirine said.
“And to be honest, it was my best experience ever.”
Since she started volunteering in May, Sirine has already completed over 122 hours in roles that include administrative and interpretive work.
“Time management is my strength,” she said.
According to ISC Volunteer Coordinator Marram Hajjo, Sirine’s excellent communication skills and welcoming attitude help her stand out.
What’s more, Sirine has now been hired as an Invigilator with Calgary Language Assessment & Referral Centre.
“Her commitment, enthusiasm and dedication are remarkable,” said Maram.
“We are incredibly grateful for her support to ISC and her willingness to serve the newcomers.”
“Sirine joined Client Care team as a volunteer since May 2023. As a volunteer, Sirine helped many newcomer families access the services they need the most to build their life in Canada. Sirine, you are an amazing person to work with. Thank you for all the great work you have done to support our team!”
