Please read the below instructions for your English test or educational counselling appointment


Online English Test on Zoom

If you are a PR or Convention Refugee, bring the original of: If you are a Canadian Citizen, bring your: If you are in Canada under the CUAET program, bring the original of: 
Permanent resident card (PR card) or Landing document and photo ID or Notice of Decision letter and photo ID  Canadian passport or Citizenship certificate AND photo ID Work Permit and Ukrainian Passport /or Alberta photo ID 

Your test is online, so you will need:  

  • High-speed internet  
  • Functional computer or laptop – iPads, tablets, and smartphones DO NOT work for this test 
  • Webcam, microphone, and speakers (or headset/earphones)  
  • Quiet place to work during the whole test (2-3 hours) 
  • Zoom – updated 

If you don't know how to use Zoom:

  • Do a microphone test using the “mic test” button before clicking “connect microphone.”

Zoom works best with a computer running on: 

  • Microsoft Windows 7 and higher  
  • Apple Mac OS X 10.12 and higher  
  • Google Chrome OS  

In-Person English Test

If you are a PR or Convention Refugee, bring the original of: If you are a Canadian Citizen, bring your: If you are in Canada under the CUAET program, bring the original of: 
Permanent resident card (PR card) or Landing document and photo ID or Notice of Decision letter and photo ID  Canadian passport or Citizenship certificate AND photo ID Work Permit and Ukrainian Passport /or Alberta photo ID. 

IMPORTANT:    

  • You must arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time. If you are late, your test will be cancelled, and you will have to reschedule for another time.   
  • Please check your email or text messages for the location (address) of your test. ISC has multiple locations throughout Calgary, so it is important that you check to make sure you are going to the right place for your test. 
  • Your test will take up to 2 hours and 30 minutes.   

Online Educational Counselling

If you are a PR or Convention Refugee, bring the original of: If you are a Canadian Citizen, bring your: If you are in Canada under the CUAET program, bring the original of: 
Permanent resident card (PR card) or Landing document and photo ID or Notice of Decision letter and photo ID  Canadian passport or Citizenship certificate AND photo ID Work Permit and Ukrainian Passport /or Alberta photo ID. 

IMPORTANT:    

  • You must arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time. If you are late, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will have to reschedule for another time.   

If you have requested an on-line remote appointment through ZOOM

  • You will receive another email at least 30 minutes before your scheduled session with a link inviting you to a  Zoom meeting
  • Make sure you have a good internet connection. 
  • Have your computer, headset, microphone, and webcam ready. Please download the latest version of Zoom on your computer. 

If you requested an appointment over the phone: 

  • You will receive a phone call at the time of the appointment. 
  • Please be prepared in advance. Choose a quiet space where you can speak and listen clearly. 
  • Make sure you keep the line free 10 minutes prior to your appointment.
