Euthenia Sin-Volunteer of the Month for February 2025

Euthenia Sin arrived in Canada in May 2024 from Hong Kong. She made this move after a seven-year career in Hong Kong’s design and social media industry.
While settling in, Euthenia connected with a career coach at the Calgary Public Library, who encouraged her to explore volunteering as she searched for a job.
Euthenia followed this advice and applied to volunteer with Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC).
She joined ISC's communications team in October 2024, providing graphic design support. So far, she has contributed over 100 hours.
Euthenia feels a deep sense of fulfillment volunteering in this capacity because she is positively impacting the lives of other newcomers and finding personal fulfillment. She says, “Volunteering at ISC makes me feel more integrated into Canada’s diverse society.”
Tihana Radojcic, the interim senior manager of communications and external relations at ISC, commends Euthenia for her hard work and support to the team. “Euthenia has taken on complex projects and designed several marketing assets for our fundraising campaigns.”
Euthenia plans to continue volunteering and encourages others to do so. Apart from expanding one’s professional network, she believes volunteering also helps to boost self-confidence and combat depression.
