Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) is a charity partner with Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink—a non-profit program under the Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation. This program is designed to help raise funds for local charities and provide matching funds for each charity involved.

As a charity partner, we receive 100% of donations made to ISC, which will go to supporting programs and services related to newcomer children and youth, and their families. And as an added bonus, all donations made through the Shaw Birdies for Kids program will be matched up to 50%, making your donation go even further!

At ISC, we believe in empowering children, youth, and their families to reach their full potential as they settle into their new lives in Canada. We support hundreds of newcomer children and youth every year through programs which enhance their well-being, help them improve their English language skills, and support them in building a sense of belonging in their new community.

Some of our free youth programs include:

Early Learning Across Cultures: A program for children 3–5 years old and their families in which children play and learn together through drama, music, storytelling, arts, crafts, and other social activities.

Healthy Start Calgary: A program for pregnant women and parents with babies which provides health information, grocery gift cards, infant essentials, and referrals to support services in Calgary.

Core Connections: A program that offers a fun space for youth who have recently arrived in Canada to meet other youth, engage with their community, build skills, and mentor and support one another.

Gateway: A collaboration among organizations to better support newcomers by providing tailored Gateway Personalized Plans for individuals and families with children, referring them to best-fit programs and services in the community.
