Congratulations to the 2024 Immigrants of Distinction Awards (IDA) winners for their remarkable contributions to Calgary and surrounding communities!

The 27th edition of the IDA was held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park, Calgary.

Government officials, business representatives, community leaders, and professionals from various sectors were present to celebrate the immigrant community in Calgary.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated the winners in an official letter, stating that “their contributions to Canada deserve the highest praise.” He also expressed appreciation to Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) for its efforts in supporting newcomers, saying, “Your work makes Canada a better place to live, for everybody.”

Every aspect of the event celebrated Canada’s multicultural society. It underscored the resilience of immigrants, refugees, and newcomers, who strive for success despite the numerous challenges they encounter when settling into a new country. Participants were inspired by the stories of all the finalists and felt more motivated to support newcomers in Calgary.

Our Board Chair, Chandy Mung, announced the organization’s year-end campaign, themed, “Unleashing Potential. “

In this pivotal moment in history, we need each other more than ever. With your ongoing support, we can continue powering change and ensure that immigrants, newcomers and refugees who depend on us won’t be left behind.
